The mission of this class is to help extend your knowledge of technology. It is an extension of W200 or R531. This class will introduce new and cutting edge technology and discuss the impact it will have on the future of education. The purpose of the class is to help you make the “leap” from either a novice or a proficient Computer user, to a planner and implementer of educational technology. Because teaching and using technology in a classroom is more than just knowing how to use a computer program you will be exposed to a variety of programs, techniques, and resources that will help you in your quest to apply a humane, modern, relevant, and technologically rich learning experience for your students. As before the main purpose of this class is not to teach you technology, but how to use technology to
enhance what and how you teach. We are not changing WHAT we teach, but looking at HOW we teach. This class will explore different communication methods and we will explore the possibilities of teaching with hypermedia.
